Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026. This page explains what Sangitify collects, why, and the controls you have.

Account information

If you create an account we store your name, email address, a securely hashed password (never the password itself) and, if you add them, your phone number and profile photo.

Listening history

When you play a song we record which track, how long you listened, whether you finished it, and the type of device (for example “Android” or “desktop”). A play only counts after the first 30 seconds. This powers “Recently played”, “Continue listening”, your monthly report and recommendations.

Search history

We keep your recent searches so you can repeat them quickly. You can delete single searches or clear them all at any time.

Preferences

Languages, moods, favourite artists and the state/region you choose during onboarding are used to personalise your home screen. We do not request precise GPS location.

Analytics

We measure aggregated usage (plays, active visitors, popular songs, device types) to run and improve the service. We do not store raw IP addresses; abuse protection uses a salted, daily-rotating hash.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, a security token to protect forms, and an anonymous visitor cookie so guests keep their history on this device. See the Cookie Policy.

Advertisements

If advertising is enabled, ads may be served by Google AdSense, which can use cookies according to Google’s own policies. Ads are always labelled and never placed inside the player.

Notifications

Push notifications are only sent if you allow them in your browser. You can switch them off in Settings or in your browser at any time.

Third-party services

Data retention

We keep your history and preferences while your account is active so the service can personalise music for you. Guest data is linked only to an anonymous cookie on your device. Expired technical caches and old sessions are removed automatically.

Your controls & deletion requests

In Settings you can clear listening history, clear search history, remove likes, delete playlists, turn off personalised recommendations and notifications, download a copy of your data, and delete your account permanently. You can also email support@sangitify.com.
